Alabama Wins National Championship
Written by Nolan Thomas, Tuesday January 10 2012
In a game that everyone thought would be close, the Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over the LSU Tigers 21-0 in the BCS National Championship game on Monday night.
The Alabama offense literally moved the ball at will against LSU scoring five field goals and one touchdown while their defense completely shut down the Tigers offense, which managed just 92 yards of total offense and did not cross the 50-yard line until the fourth quarter.
Except for Alabama fans, this was not the type of championship game that anyone envisioned.
After the game, LSU coach Les Miles actually said that they should be voted the National Champion regardless because of their earlier 9-6 defeat of Alabama.
That did not happen however; as Alabama received 55 of 60 first place votes on Tuesday to officially claim the BCS Championship.
LSU actually received one vote, even after the dominating defeat and Oklahoma State received four votes.
