Wildcard Weekend Not That Wild

Tim Tebow took Tebow time to overtime in an exciting finish to eliminate the Steelers on Sunday. The Broncos needed just 11 seconds and won on a first down passing play after rushing on first down almost every time all game. Other than that, Wildcard Weekend was not really wild at all. And as it often happens in the playoffs, the old adage is there's no place like home.

In all four games, the home team won. The Giants, Saints, and Texans all won with comfortable margins of victory. The Denver win was a bit of an upset, but it was a movie we have seen before. Last year, an injured New Orleans team went to Seattle to face a division winner in a weak division. This year, an injured Pittsburgh team went to Denver to face a division winner in a weak division. One of the only differences was that Denver won one more game in the regular season.

Moving into the divisional matchups, all eight division winners are still alive. In the AFC it will be North vs. South and East vs. West. In the NFC, it will be the North vs. the East and the West vs. the South. New Orleans has had a record setting season on offense, and some people just do not want to believe yet in San Francisco. But in the other three match ups, the home team is expected to prevail again.
