Marlins New Pitcher Buehrle’s Dog Banned from Dade County
Miami Marlins new pitcher Mark Buehrle is a dog lover who owns four of them and one of them, an American Staffordshire terrier named Slater, which is also considered to be part of the pitbull family, had to buy a home outside of Dade County because pitbulls have been banned in the county since 1989.
Buehrle signed a four-year, $58 million deal with the Marlins last month, had to buy a house in Broward County in a dog friendly neighborhood.
The all-star lefty also said that he would not have signed with the Marlins if there was not a housing solution for the 18-month old Slater.
