Bears Promote Mike Tice to Offensive Coordinator
Written by Nolan Thomas, Friday January 06 2012
The Chicago Bears have promoted offensive line coach Mike Tice to offensive coordinator, taking over for Mike Martz who resigned last week.
While Tice has never had any coordinator experience, he was head coach of the Minnesota Vikings so he has experience running the show.
Head coach Lovie Smith never really saw eye-to-eye with Martz on how he wanted the offense to be run while Tice and him will be on the same page in the desire for a strong running game with the ability to mix in volatile pass plays.
Tice will call the plays while also continuing to work hands on with the offensive line.
