Jets Rookie Greg McElroy Steps Out on a Limb
Written by Travis Pulver, Wednesday January 04 2012
In a perfect world people would be allowed to speak their mind without fear of repercussions from peers or employers. Our world, however, is far from perfect.
New York Jets rookie QB Greg McElroy recently spoke out on the culture of the locker room with the Jets and the possibility that the whole NFL may be similar:
“…It’s the first time I’ve ever been around extremely selfish individuals. And I think that’s maybe the nature of the NFL. But there were people within our locker room that didn’t care whether we won or lost as long as they got theirs, they had a good game individually…”
In the Jets locker room there is at least one individual that easily comes to mind, but his comments make it seem like Santonio Holmes is not the only one McElroy is referring to.
McElroy may want to be careful with what he says though. It would not be unheard of for a seventh round draft pick to get cut because he was a little too honest with the media.
