Clemson’s Dabo Swinney, who led the Tigers to 10 wins, including a win in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game, has been named the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year. He is the first Clemson coach to ever win the award.
Swinney was announced as the unanimous winner of the award at halftime of the Chick-fil-A Bowl on Saturday night at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year is to honor the BCS college football coach whose programs represent the highest ideals on and off the field.
The award winner of award is voted upon each year by a panel which includes previous award winners.
