After Two Power Outages, 49ers Beat Steelers
In a game that was delayed twice because the power went out inside Candlestick Park, once prior to the game and then once again during the game, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-3 on Monday Night Football.
The lights first went out at 5:19 p.m. local California time and stayed off for nearly 20 minutes before coming back on, and went out again at 6:43 p.m. local time and fans held up cell phones to provide light while they tried to solve the problem.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw three interceptions and the 49ers, the worst team statistically in red zone scoring, scored two red zone touchdowns against the vaunted Steelers defense.
