Red Sox Might Find Starter In The Pen
Written by Christopher Corazon, Friday December 09 2011
The Red Sox were not one of the teams that signed a big name starter at the Winter meetings. The Marlins got Mark Buerhle and the Angels took CJ Wilson. The Sox might get help from their bullpen.
Hard-throwing Daniel Bard might be moved into the rotation. he would need to have three pitches. He also was already expected to fill the void from the departed Jonathan Papelbon, who went to the Phillies.
If he makes the move, he would be like Wilson, who went from starter to ace. Also, the Sox learned with John Lackey that some times the big free agent does not pay off.
