Red Sox Managerial Choice Down To Two
Written by Christopher Corazon, Sunday November 27 2011
The Red Sox have been taking their time choosing the next manager. It seems a decision will be coming before the winter meetings begin December 5th.
It seems the choice is down to two candidates. Bobby Valentine and Gene Lamont are the front runners. Either choice will give Boston a manager with experience for a veteran team. The Sox hope to be competitive in 2012.
Earlier in the process, it seems that Dale Sveum was the leading candidate. However, the Cubs were able to convince Sveum to go to Chicago, now under the leadership of former Boston GM Theo Epstein.
