Broncos Waive QB Kyle Orton
With the recent success lately with Tim Tebow as the starting quarterback, the Denver Broncos have waived Kyle Orton, leaving former Notre Dame Star Brady Quinn as the backup.
Orton, who was included in the infamous Jay Cutler trade three years ago with the Chicago Bears, is now out of a job.
There are numerous teams that are looking to add a veteran quarterback that might pick up Orton, including the Bears who have lost Cutler probably for the rest of the regular season, as well as the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs, who have also lost their starting quarterbacks due to injury.
It is unlikely that the Bears pick him up however, as he is unfamiliar with offensive coordinator Mike Martz’ difficult playbook and the team would rather pick up a quarterback that has had experience in that system such as Marc Bulger, J.T. O’Sullivan or Josh McCown to back up new starting quarterback Caleb Hanie.
