Rex Ryan Pays the Price for Being Human

Pro athletes and public performers deserve a lot of credit. Yes, since they are in the public eye they should expect a little grief from “fans” every now and them. However, it’s a little unfair to expect them to sit and take it just because the whole world is watching.
No one would have been surprised if New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan had said something along those lines when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell levied a $75,000 fan against him for cursing back at a Patriots fan November 13 when his Jets lost to the Patriots 37-16.
Instead—almost surprisingly—he took the high road:
“I know the commissioner has a tough enough job,” Ryan said, in comments distributed by the Jets’ PR staff. “I’m an NFL lifer and I know I represent the NFL and I represent the Jets, so I’m accountable for my actions. So I will not appeal it.”
No word yet on what repurcusions the classless Patriots fan will suffer (sarcasm completely intended).
