Kevin Kolb wants to face Eagles
Written by Nolan Thomas, Thursday November 10 2011
More than anything else, Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb really wants to be behind center in Philadelphia on Sunday to lead the Cardinals against his former team.
However, he might not get the chance as a right turf toe injury could still keep him out of the lineup.
Kolb wants to play against the Eagles “at all cost” as this is not just another game for him.
Before the Eagles signed Michael Vick, Kolb was the heir apparent to Donovan McNabb but after suffering a concussion in last season’s opener, Kolb rode the pine the rest of the season as Vick shined as the No. 1 quarterback for the team.
After the season, Kolb asked to be traded and the Eagles obliged by trading him to the Cardinals where he signed a five-year $63 million deal with $21 million guaranteed.
Kolb has made no secret that this would be no ordinary game and he would love to have a shot at performing on the field against Vick, the quarterback who took away his job in Philly.
“I’m looking forward to going back, but I definitely want to be in uniform and have a chance to play,” Kolb said.
