Joe Paterno Fired- Effective Immediately
Written by Nolan Thomas, Wednesday November 09 2011
Only hours after Penn State head football Coach Joe Paterno announced that he will retire at the end of the season, his 64th, the schools Board of Trustees decided that that was not good enough and fired the legendary coach, effective immediately, on Wednesday.
Also fired with the growing furor over how the school handled sex abuse allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was university president Graham Spanier.
Moving forward, defensive coordinator Tom Bradley will serve as interim coach while Rodney Erickson will serve as the interim school president.
