Yankees GM Cashman Signs 3-Year Deal
Written by Nolan Thomas, Tuesday November 01 2011
The New York Yankees resigned general manager Brian Cashman to a three-year contract worth about $9 million on Tuesday less than 24 hours after CC Sabathia chose not to become a free agent and resign with the Yanks himself.
Cashman has been the Yankees GM since February 1998, when he took over for Bob Watson and has served as Yankees GM longer then anyone except Ed Barrow who was GM for 25 years from 1920-45.
Under Cashman, the Yankees have won four World Series titles, six AL pennants, 11 division titles and advanced to the playoffs in 13 of 14 seasons.
