More Bad Luck for the Washington Redskins
Written by Travis Pulver, Monday October 24 2011
This season started out as one in which the Redskins thought they could surprise a few people and possibly take the NFC East. Dallas is not playing well, the Philadelphia “Dream Team” Eagles are more of a nightmare, and the New York Giants were never in the conversation to begin with.
It now appears as if it is the Washington Redskins that are now living through a nightmare. On Sunday they lost their starting running back, Tim Hightower, for the season and star wide receiver Santana Moss for the next 5-7 weeks.
These two losses make five starters that the offense has lost in recent weeks. Tight end Chris Cooley is out for the foreseeable future with a broken finger. The left side of the offensive line is out as well, guard Kory Lichtensteiger for the season with torn knee ligaments; tackle Trent Williams has a sprained ankle (and is week to week).
