Stern Cancels First Two Weeks of NBA Season
After NBA owners and players were unable to reach a new labor deal and end the lockout, Commissioner David Stern has canceled the first two weeks of the season.
Both sides met on Monday for more than seven hours after ending talks on Sunday night.
Stern said both sides are “very far apart on virtually all issues” and “We just have a gulf that separates us.”
Owners locked out the players on July 1 when they could not reach a deal before the of the old collective bargaining agreement expired.
