White Sox hiring Ventura Laughable
Written by Nolan Thomas, Friday October 07 2011
Chicago White Sox GM Kenny Williams is looking to strike gold twice with the philosophy of hiring managers with no experience managing.
He did it before with Ozzie Guillen, who then led the Sox to a World Series championship in 2005, although Guillen did have coaching experience in the Major Leagues at least.
New Sox manager Robin Ventura has absolutely no coaching experience what-so-ever, not even a little league team. The most experience he has was volunteering to help out a high school team in Los Angeles last summer.
It is hard to fathom why Ventura was hired as the new manager on the south side of Chi-town.
Sure he was a fan favorite when he manned the hot corner in Chicago for ten years and was a six-time Gold Glove winner and an All-Star in 1992 for the Sox, but shouldn’t someone at least have some sort of coaching experience before becoming a Major League manager?
Cubs fans on the north side of the city are ROTFLTAO (rolling on the floor laughing their asses off.)
