Tigers Headed to ALCS
In game five of the American League Divisional Series, the Detroit Tigers defeated the New York Yankees 3-2 in Yankee Stadium to advance to the American League Championship Series.
For the Yankees, who had the best record in the American League, their season is over.
The Tigers hit back to back solo home runs by Don Kelly and Delmon Young in the first inning got the ball rolling and Detroit never looked back.
Perfect closer Jose Valverde, who has not blown a save all season, struck out Alex Rodriguez to end the game.
