Will The Yankees Pray For Rain?
Written by Daniel Turner, Monday October 03 2011
After a 23 hour rain delay the Yankees leapt on Justin Verlander replacement Doug Fister in what looked like a possible first round spanking for the Tigers. Last night Detroit evened the series with strong pitching from Max Scherzer and a superb close by Jose Valverde who extended his unblemished record to 49 consecutive.
Having lost the travel day to the elements the Yankees must face Verlander tonight in the spacious confines of Comerica.
Having ducked Verlander in game one the Yankees might be praying for more precipitation tonight.
