AL Wild Card All Tied Up
Written by Christopher Corazon, Monday September 26 2011
The American League Wild Card is all tied up going into the final two games of the season. On Monday, the Rays beat the Yankees while the Red Sox lost in Baltimore. Boston once had a nine game lead at the beginning of the month, and now that lead is gone.
The Red Sox and Yankees played a double header on Sunday. The second game went into extra innings and the two games combined were a total of 23 innings.
In the National League, the Phillies beat the Braves, but the Cardinals were not able to close their one game deficit.
