NASCAR points leader Kyle Busch has had his driver’s license suspended on Tuesday for 45 days for driving 128 mph on a North Carolina road in a $400,000 Lexus LFA sports car that he had on loan for a 24-hour test drive.

Busch, who does not need a drivers license in order to race in NASCAR, was also fined $1,000, sentenced to 30 hours of community service and put on one year of unsupervised probation after pleading guilty to speeding and no contest to reckless and careless driving.

Busch and his wife, Samantha, were in the car when he was pulled over on a two-lane road near a subdivision, a day-care center and a church.

Busch will do his community service with the teen safe-driving program B.R.A.K.E.S., which was developed by drag racer Doug Herbert, whose two sons were killed in a an accident attributed to speeding in 2008.

Herbert established the “Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe” program order to teach teenagers to drive safety.
