Larry Johnson Signs with Dolphins
After sitting out most of last season, veteran running back Larry Johnson signed with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday.
The Dolphins are hoping to improve their depth in the running game behind Reggie Bush and rookie Daniel Thomas after waiving running back Kory Sheets, who missed all of last season with an Achilles injury.
Johnson was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in November of 2009 and finishing the year with the Cincinnati Bengals as a reserve running back.
In March of 2010 Johnson was signed to a three-year, incentive-laden contract with the Washington Redskins but was released after playing in only two games and gaining 2 yards on five carries.
Although Johnson was a stud in Kansas City when he had consecutive 1,750-yard seasons and ran for a total of 37 touchdowns, he was marred by off-field issues, including two suspensions in his final year with the Chiefs.
Johnson has career rushing totals of 6,221 yards with 55 touchdowns.
