Former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson Sued for Battery
Former Kansas City Chiefs star running back Larry Johnson is being sued for damages in excess of $15,000 by a man who says he was beaten by Johnson on the morning of May 7 after attending a party in Miami Beach.
According to the suit, Jon Graney, 47, of Miami, claims that after leaving a party, he was "approached and attacked by a man who was later identified as Johnson."
Graney said that "he was leaving to go home and he was talking on the phone and he was hit from behind unprovoked."
Graney said he was "viciously struck ... numerous times with a closed fist" and "beaten and brutalized by Johnson." He also claims that Johnson chased him down the street after kicking him while he was on the ground.
Graney suffered three herniated discs, a torn rotator cuff, along with post-traumatic pain in his back, shoulder and wrist.
Johnson's agent has vehemently denied the allegations.
