Orton in Contract Talks with Dolphins
Written by Nolan Thomas, Wednesday July 27 2011
Former Chicago Bears and current Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton is reportedly in contract talks with the Miami Dolphins, who if they can work things out would then acquire him in a trade.
The Dolphins are among a few teams apparently engaged in contract negotiations with Orton, who will probably be traded by the end of the week; the only question is to what team.
The Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks were among the team's talking to Orton on Tuesday.
The Vikings and the Seahawks are now out of the picture as the Vikings are in talks to acquire Donovan McNabb from the Washington Redskins and the Seahawks agreed to terms with former Viking Tarvaris Jackson on Tuesday.
Orton is on top of Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland wish lists, as he wants a proven starter to come in and compete with Chad Henne for the starting spot.
Orton wants starter money however, and if in fact he agrees to deal and is traded to the Dolphins, he will probably have the upper hand as the teams starting quarterback this season.
