World Series Home Field Advantage Decided by All-Star Game Ludicrous

OK enough is enough already! Home field advantage for the World Series being decided by the winner of the MLB All-Star game was a nice touch at first, but now the whole concept is just ludicrous and a definite strike out.

The All-Star game is an exhibition game and giving home field advantage in the World Series to the winner does not make the game more interesting or get more fans to watch the game.

Most fans that do watch the All-Star game do so to see their home town players get into the game and get a big hit, make a great play or strike out a batter with the bases loaded to end the inning.

This year, most of the fans watching will be Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, and Brewer fans because they dominate the rosters.

Commissioner Bud Selig needs to get rid of this concept and go back to alternating years from the AL and the NL for home field advantage in the World Series and make it fair again.

The only part I disagree with is "it was a nice touch at first"... it was NEVER a good idea (although it may have helped the Sox in 04 and 07) Nolan... check out my Sports Radio show on 910 in Richmond Sunday from 2-3. They said I can mention Playerpress....

Thumbs up, Nolan. The HFA-effect does nothing more to generate fan interest (‘Hey Billy, aren't you gonna' watch the All-Star game? Nah, Dad, I've got too much homework. But the winner will get World Series home field. Wow, Dad, I forgot! Can I do my homework later? You sure can Billy!')...than it does player enthusiasm. With all the distractions (HR Derby et al) and the World Series over three months down the road, HFA is about the last thing on an All-Star’s mind. HFA should go to the team with the best record in MLB: simple and fair.

This is so funny Nolan. I completely disagree and was planning to write an article about it tomorrow. I look forward to your critique. Just try to be more creative than "You're an idiot B-Dub". You could cut and paste that into the comments of any article I write.
