U.S. Reaches Gold Cup Final
For the fourth straight time, the United States is back in the Gold Cup final after defeating Panama 1-0 in the semifinals Wednesday night.
Clint Dempsey scored in the 77th minute from an assist from Landon Donovan for the only goal in the game.
Since the 2-1 group play loss to Panama on June 11, the United States has shut out its last three opponents.
The U.S. will face the winner of the Honduras-Mexico semifinal game on Saturday at the Rose Bowl for the championship match.
