Mavericks guard DeShawn Stevenson arrested
Dallas Mavericks shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson was wandering around an apartment complex intoxicated in Irving, Texas Tuesday night and was arrested after the police received a call that a drunken man was walking around the complex.
Once the police arrived, Stevenson was given a sobriety test and arrested on a Class C misdemeanor public intoxication charge. Apparently, he did not know where he was or how he got there.
Stevenson was released Wednesday morning at 5:30 local time after posting $475 bond.
Stevenson, who will be a free agent July 1, played a pivotal role for the Mavericks in the NBA Finals against Miami, making 13-of-23 shots from 3-point range along with playing excellent defense against Heat superstars Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.
During the Finals, Stevenson also attracted a lot of attention for criticizing LeBron James, and then called the Heat "classless" after the Mavericks won game six to win the NBA Championship.
