Is The Dodgers McCourt On A Mission From God?
Written by Daniel Turner, Friday June 10 2011
Frank McCourt was rankled when MLB stepped in to take over the everyday operations of the Dodgers. He had reported a deal in the making with Fox that is in the $7 billion region with an immediate $300 million payout to the team. Still, Bud Selig sent former Ranger exec Tom Schieffer and former Reds COO John Allen to oversee the team.
Well, this week McCourt came to bat with an endorsement even larger than Fox, the word of God courtesy of several religious leaders in Los Angeles. Apparently the men of the cloth feel that God wants the Dodgers left in McCourt’s hands and they wrote a joint letter to Selig letting the commissioner know he is taking on a higher source when he mettles in the Dodgers affairs.
Twenty religious leaders headed by Dr. John J. Hunter, senior minister of the First A.M.E. Church of Los Angeles would prefer that Selig side with God and let McCourt run the Dodgers.
