An Unassisted Double Play for A-Rod

Yesterday Alex Rodriguez added another product to the line that he endorses when it was announced he was a spokesperson for Vita Coco, a coconut water drink. Rodriguez states he loves Vita Coco and drinks it every day; it is his coconut water of choice. Imagine how that surprised Zico, Vito Coco’s biggest competitor and a company in which Rodriguez has invested money.
Zico CEO Mark Rampolla says that A-Rod has invested quite a bit of money in the company. In fact, it is more than Rampolla himself has invested.
Rodriguez dodged the money question by stating he never discusses his investments. He added that he no longer drinks Zico since they changed the drink to a concentrate. This surprised Rampolla even more since they have continued to supply A-Rod with the drink and he continues to endorse their product, too.
Like the Texas Rangers Rampolla said that if Rodriguez would rather endorse Vita Coco he would be happy to cut his losses allowing A-Rod to move on.
