Nowitzki's Fever Gone Ready for Game Five
Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki said he felt great and said that he is over the worst effects of the sinus infection he played through in Game 4 of the NBA Finals and that he is ready to go in Game five of the series Thursday night.
He also said that with the series tied at 2-2 Nowitzki said the series is “still wide open.”
With the series moving to Miami after Thursday night’s game, Nowitzki knows how important it is to win game five so they do not go back to the Heats home court down three games to two and having to win both games.
"You don't want to give them two chances to close it out at home, so this is our Game 7 here,” Nowitzki said
The Mavericks have pulled out their two wins in the fourth quarter to avoid deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 in the series.
Nowitzki is averaging 26.5 points this series and has scored 49 percent of the Mavericks' fourth-quarter points.
This all despite having the fever during game four and playing the series with a torn tendon in the tip of his left middle finger which he sustained in game one.
