Ohio State’s Terrelle Prior Has Professional Options
Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor announced on Tuesday that he is giving up his senior season in the midst of an NCAA investigation concerning Ohio State players receiving improper benefits from a local tattoo parlor.
Of course Pryor has the option of entering the NFL through a supplemental draft, but with the uncertainty of the 2011 season due to the current labor impasse and lockout, that might not even be a choice for this season. However, he has other options as well for the upcoming season.
One would be the CFL where the Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired Pryor’s negotiating rights and his lawyer said that the Canadian League is a genuine possibility.
If he decides he would prefer to play the U.S. game he could always sign with a UFL team for 2011, get some professional experience and then sign with the NFL next season.
