Childress Applies Expensive Headlock to Busch
Written by Daniel Turner, Monday June 06 2011
NASCAR is serious about protecting their drivers, including when they get bull rushed by a 65 year old man as happened on Saturday when Richard Childress placed Kyle Busch in a headlock and tossed in some nuggie shots to boot.
Busch decided to spare the citizens of North Carolina and perform his fast driving on a race track in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 truck race. When he was cut off by Joey Coulter of the RCP team he responded by giving Coulter’s truck a post race bump and that’s when Childress stepped in to protect his driver.
Childress’ “attack” on Busch drew a $150K fine and he is on probation for the remainder of the year. That means that Childress must refrain from beating up drivers a 1/3 of his age for the rest of the season.
Childress accepted his fine and probation saying he must be held responsible for his own actions.
