“Yo, What’s Up With Da Phillies?”
Written by Daniel Turner, Friday May 20 2011
That’s what Vinnie and Sal are planning to ask the folks at WIP radio. Considering only six people listen to sports talk radio in Philly they should be able to air that question shortly, especially since Joey drew a 60 day ban from calling in after cursing while expressing his disgust at the Flyers getting swept. Hell, they probably waited longer for their pizza from Ralphs and Ricky’s than they will to air their grievance.
Baseball is a long season filled with nuances that include hot and cold spells. Yes the Phillies haven’t looked all that great lately, but before the Manuel era even this would have looked good.
Okay, they gave up three homers to Jason Giambi, but the Veteran’s Stadium Phillies are not returning. The starters are too good, some of the bats will reawaken and Ruben Amaro Jr. is too good at his job to not replace those that don’t.
So, as you wait for the Phils to hit stride and win the division, enjoy that pizza.

I don't know where you're from Daniel, but you show a shocking lack of knowledge about the fans of Philadelphia. While I agree that the average American is downright stupid, that's no reason to make generalizations about the best fans in all of sports (Just ask Cliff Lee). Sports radio in Philly is so popular that there are TWO sports radio stations in the city; WIP and ESPN (local and national shows). At least you seems to realize that the Phillies are going to win the World Series.
