Harmon Killebrew Dies At 74
Written by Christopher Corazon, Wednesday May 18 2011
Minnesota Twins legend Harmon Killebrew passed away after losing his battle against cancer. He was 74.
Killebrew was signed by the Washington Senators when he was 17. The team moved to Minnesota, and Killebrew remains one of the greatest players in the 51 year history of the Twins. He was the AL MVP in 1969.
When Killebrew retired, he was fifth on the all-time list for home runs. Now in the steroid era he has been passed by some players who needed help to get to the top of the home run list. Killebrew's achievements should be valued even higher because he played long before the steroid era.
