Orioles Luke Scott Discredits Obama

August 3, 2010: Luke Scott , designated hitter for the Baltimore Orioles, cheers on his teammates as he watches the action from the dugout during a game against the visiting Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. The Orioles beat the Angels 6 - 3.

Finally, a professional athlete has come forward and put his two cents into something that is important to this country besides the sport that he plays in.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Luke Scott came forward at the winter meetings on Tuesday and questioned President Barack Obama’s birthplace and said that he does not represent the United States.

“Obama does not represent America. Nor does he represent anything what our forefathers stood for,” Scott said in an interview with David Brown of Yahoo’s Big League Stew.

Scott went on to say that Obama has no legal documentation or any proof of where he was born.

“He was not born here. That’s my belief. I was born here,” Scott said. ”If someone accuses me of not being born here, I can go, within 10 minutes, to my filing cabinet and I can pick up my real birth certificate and I can go, ‘See? Look! Here it is. Here it is.’ The man has dodged everything. He dodges questions, he doesn’t answer anything. And why? Because he’s hiding something.”

Scott has hit a home run here and you have to wonder why more Americans are not demanding that Obama produces legal documentation of where he was born.

According to the U.S. Constitution, only native-born U.S. citizens (or those born abroad, but only to parents who were both citizens of the U.S.) may be president of the United States. The Constitution originally provided a small loophole to this provision: One needn't have been born in the United States but had to be a citizen at the time the Constitution was adopted.

I highly doubt that Obama was around in 1789, so there goes that loophole. And it is well known that his father was not a U.S. Citizen, so loophole No. 2 does not work either.

Yet, Obama has shown no proof of being a native-born U.S. citizen what so ever and the fact that he has not been forced to produce such documents is a farce and proves Scott’s point that he must be hiding something.

Obama has pussyfooted his way around this long enough. His birth certificate should have been produced before he was even sworn into office.
