The four finalists for the Heisman Trophy, that will be awarded to college football's best player on Saturday night, have been announced.  Favorite Cam Newton of Auburn will be joined in New York by Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore, Oregon running back LaMichael James and Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

Newton, fresh of dominating the SEC championship game on Saturday when he accounted for six touchdowns in the Tigers' victory over South Carolina, finished the season with 48 total touchdowns - 28 passing and 20 rushing.  He also threw only six interceptions all season.

James led the nation in rushing with 1,702 yards and 21 touchdowns for Oregon.  Boise State's Moore finished the season with 3,269 yards passing and 30 touchdowns with only five interceptions.  And Luck amassed 3,045 yards passing with 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Moore will lead the Broncos against Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl.  Luck, meanwhile, will lead the Cardinal against Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Newton and James will square off in the BCS title game on Jan. 10 after both Auburn and Oregon finished the season undefeated and ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the BCS standings.

While Newton is considered the favorite to win the Heisman, he is by no means a lock.  The NCAA findings that his father solicited money for his son's services from colleges has cast a shadow over Newton.  While Newton has been cleared to play, the NCAA said that the investigation is ongoing.

After the scandal that caused previous Heisman winner, Reggie Bush, to return his trophy, voters may want to steer clear of any possible controversy with Newton.
