The Buffalo Bills lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 19-16 in overtime on a Shaun Suisham field goal on Sunday, but apparently that's not the reason the team lost the game.  According to Buffalo wide receiver Steve Johnson, it was God's fault that the Bills lost the game.

Johnson took to Twitter after the game to blame the Almighty for the loss.  His Tweet read: "I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS IS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!!  YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS???  HOW???!!!  I'LL NEVER FORGET THIS!!  EVER!!  THX THO"

Johnson's outrage was the result of him dropping what would have been a 40-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Frank Fitzpatrick on the possession before Suisham won the game in overtime with his 41-yard field goal with 2:14 left in overtime.

The winning kick was the fourth field goal of the game for Suisham, who was just recently signed by the Steelers (8-3).  The kick capped a 13-play, 58-yard drive in overtime.  The win was the third in four games for the Steelers and ended a modest two-game winning streak for the Bills (2-9).

Johnson is enjoying a breakout season, but this loss will stay with him for a while.  He couldn't even watch the winning kick.  He sat on the end of the Bills bench with his head down.  "I had the game in my hands and I dropped it," Johnson said in the locker room after the game.  Then, growing emotional, he added, "I'll never get over it.  Ever."

Well, at least not until he found a higher power to blame it on that is.

Great work B-DuB, good topic too - God and sports. Many years ago I taught religion at a Catholic High School outside Boston. Kids would have signs at our games "God is on OUR side" I always asked, "what happens when we play Trinity?"
