June 17, 2010 - Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES - epa02208234 Boston Celtics' Kevin Garnett before his game against the Los Angeles Lakers during game seven of the NBA Finals at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA, 17 June 2010.

On Tuesday, the Boston Celtics thoroughly beat the Detroit Pistons 109-86 and Charlie Villanueva posted a few Twitter messages that would lend some people to believe that Kevin Garnett may have stepped over his bounds.

Garnett is well known for his big mouth and trash talking on the basketball court and his comments hit a nerve with Villanueva, who suffers from alopecia universalis, a medical condition that results in hair loss.

One of Villanueva’s tweets said: "KG called me a cancer patient, I'm pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he's tossing it like it's a joke."

A second Tweet went on to say: "I wouldn't even trip about that, but a cancer patient, I know way 2 many people who passed away from it, and I have a special place 4 those."

Garnett scored 22 points and had six rebounds in the game while Villanueva had 17 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

On another Tweet, Villanueva sounds as if he is challenging Garnett to a fight, off the court.

"KG talks alot of crap, he's prob never been in a fight, I would love to get in a ring with him, I will expose him," another tweet reads.

When Garnett might have made the alleged statements during the game is not exactly known, but the two players got into it at one point during the game.

On his was to the basket, Villanueva was fouled by Garnett with 2:39 left to go in the fourth quarter, and the two exchanged words. Celtics coach Doc Rivers immediately pulled Garnett from the game, but the two were still talking back and forth as Garnett headed to the bench and a double technical was called.

The Pistons have confirmed that Villanueva did in fact post the tweets but they had no further comment on the matter.

In every basketball game, trash talking is common. A more famous player usually trash talks another. Some of them feel they are superior to the other. Kevin Garnett is one of those National Basketball Association players who brings extra fire to his game, even verbal fire. He is arguably the current poster child for junk talking in the NBA. Yet such a thing can go too far, indicates ESPN. During a recent blowout of the Detroit Pistons, the Celtics vocal leader went past the bounds of good taste. In the tweeted words of Pistons forward Villanueva, “KG called me a cancer patient,” evidently in reference to Villanueva's complete insufficient hair. The Pistons have confirmed that the tweets came from Villanueva, but have offered no further comment at this time.
