Rookie quarterback Sam Bradford
threw two touchdown passes, the defense forced four turnovers and the St. Louis Rams are no where near the same team that one only one game last season.

The 20-10 win over the Carolina Panthers put the Rams at .500 with a 4-4 record and gave them a realistic goal of actually winning the NFC West if they can keep it up.

Bradford, the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft this year, threw a touchdown pass to Danny Amendola in the second quarter and a 23-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Fells in the fourth quarter.

Bradford was 25 for 32 for 191 yards with no interceptions and a season-best quarterback rating of 112.4.

“I felt very comfortable out there today, probably the most comfortable I’ve felt,” said Bradford. “I think the game is really slowing down for me.”

The Rams go into their bye week with more wins than the previous two seasons combined as they were 2-14 in 2008 and 1-15 last season.

Carolina on the other hand continues to falter as the loss put their record at 1-6.

Quarterback Matt Moore was 23 for 37 for 194 yards and three interceptions.

The Panthers, who are ranked 31st in the league in total offense, had just 201 total yards and they rushed for only 25 yards in the game.

Carolina had a chance to tie the game at 10 early in the fourth quarter, but receiver Steve Smith fumbled after catching a pass and Chris Long recovered the ball, giving the Rams the ball at the Carolina 43.

Five plays later, on third-and-18, Bradford rolled to his right and hit Daniel Fells in stride who took it to the house to make the score 17-3.

Linebacker James Laurinaitis had eight tackles, one sack and one interception for the Rams and Chris Long had a sack, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in the victory.
