Ravens Defense Was Second Best to Bengals
Written by Daniel Turner, Monday September 20 2010
The Ravens are known as a defense first team with number 52 Ray Lewis setting the tone with punishing tackles. Yet, if you asked the Bengals if Baltimore’s defense is intimidating they’d reply, “Nevermore”.
Cincinnati had already defeated the Ravens in their last two meetings going into yesterday’s matchup and they made it three by having their D rule the game. Four interceptions and complete shutting down of the Ravens running and passing game left the Bengals looking like the bad boys on the block.
With the addition of T. J. Houshmandzadeh the Ravens hoped to add offensive punch, but the Bengals beat them to that punch and walked away with a punishing win over a team known for being physical.
