The Seahawks Will Soon Find Out What Kind of Coach Carroll Is
Written by Daniel Turner, Thursday September 09 2010
"We don't want to be patient at all. We're going after it right now. We're going after our division right now." That’s what Pete Carroll announced in January when he addressed the press as the Seahawks head coach.
Since January the Seahawks roster has undergone numerous changes, most of them occurring in the last week prior to the start of the regular season. With so much untested talent and players who have built a 9-23 record in the past two seasons; four of those wins coming against the Rams, the challenge that faces Carroll is to prove he can accomplish in the NFL what he did in the NCAA.
Impatience on his part could be deadly. He must improve the team’s overall record, but he is delusional if he believes he can take them to the top immediately. This isn’t the Pac-10 and these guys aren’t college players.
Wins will be at a premium this year and Carroll must prove he can build a NFL franchise; otherwise the knock that he can’t cut it at the pro level will grow.
