Ravens Sign Veteran Receiver Houshmandzadeh
Written by Travis Pulver, Monday September 06 2010
The Seattle Seahawks cut T.J. Houshmandzadeh in order to get down to the 53-man roster limit. He did not spend much time on the market with the Baltimore Ravens more than happy to pick him up. When wide receiver Donte Stallworth went down with a broken foot it left the Ravens with only the aging Derrick Mason to line up across from their prize off-season acquisition, Anquan Boldin. Now it looks like the team will have another veteran wide receiver to help out. "Baltimore was about a chance to win the ring,'' Houshmandzadeh said. "Five or six teams have a legit shot to win a Super Bowl this year and they were one of them. Without me." The Ravens signed Houshmandzadeh to a one-year deal worth $855,000. He had only played one season in Seattle after signing a five-year deal for $40 million. In his only year with the Seahawks he had 79 receptions for 911 yards.
