When the Wisconsin Badgers go to Las Vegas it’s all Business
The Badgers open their season playing UNLV at Sam Boyd Stadium. Coach Bret Bielema sees the trip similar to all of Wisconsin’s road games, in his words, a business trip.
However, it is Vegas so Bielema is making one exception. “We’ll give the kids an opportunity to get a tour of the downtown Strip,” Bielema said. “But that won’t be more than 45 minutes. Going back to coach Alvarez’s day, he was a little bolder than I was. He actually let the guys get off in one of the casinos and have a buffet lunch or dinner.
The Badgers aren’t the only Wisconsinites who won’t be hitting the casino. After four previous sell outs when the Badgers played at Boyd Stadium there are plenty of seats available. UNLV writes it off to the struggling economy and Badgers fans not being willing to make the trip.
