Dolphins Kendall Langford goes Diamond Hunting
According to CBSSports.com, there was a group of Miami Dolphins on their hands and knees after practice on Tuesday.
It was not because they just went through an extra hard workout or because they were over tired, but because they were all searching for a diamond on the field.
It turns out that defensive end Kendall Langford must have been in a hurry to get to practice because he forgot to take out his diamond earrings before he hit the field and during practice one of them fell out somewhere.
According to Langford, the diamond was nearly 2.5 carats, which is why he and at least nine of his Dolphins teammates were still on the field on their hands and knees an hour after practice was over.
It must have been a pretty funny sight, ten Dolphins scanning the two practice fields that the team practices on. Some were on their hands and knees; some were using rakes, all hoping to get a glimpse of some shinny glass in the grass.
"I've got a great group of guys out here helping me -- family-type guys," Langford said.
Langford did not say how much the diamond was worth, but a jewelry distributor said it could be worth more than $50,000.
Fellow defensive end Ryan Baker, who was one of the players trying to help Langford find the precious stone, said: “It’s a fat diamond. It's a shame."
Langford finally ended the search, for now, as he had to attend a team meeting and missing that would have probably cost him more money, plus the grounds crew had started to mow the grass.
Maybe they will find it, of course they just might make it even more difficult to find. I hope he had it insured.
