Jay Bruce Homers Again
Written by Travis Pulver, Tuesday August 31 2010
Sometimes when you are hot, you are hot, and right now Jay Bruce is hot.
The outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds is heating up at the right time as the Reds look to protect their lead in the NL Central division.
For the fifth time in four days he hit a home run, this one to start the scoring off in the first inning against the Milwaukee Brewers. Bruce would later end the scoring as well with a RBI single in the 10th inning to give the Reds the win, 5-4.
The home run was Bruce’s 18th on the season and ninth for the month of August.
With the win and a loss by the St. Louis Cardinals to the Houston Astros, the Reds increased their lead in the division to six games, the largest lead they have had since the last time they won the division in 1995.
