After much speculation after the USA Soccer team was eliminated in this year’s World Cup about what was going to happen to coach Bob Bradley, it was announced late Monday that U.S. Soccer has agreed to a four-year extension with Bradley according to the Associated Press.

The extension ends any of the speculation that the federation wanted to start over and that Bradley was seeking a job in Europe.

Bradley had expressed interest in jobs in Europe including Fulham and Aston Villa in the English Premier League. As the weeks went by, however, it seemed that retaining Bradley was becoming more and more in doubt.

"Bob is honored to be the U.S. coach," said Ron Waxman, Bradley's agent. "It's a job he enjoys very much, and he's very happy."

U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati said he thought the Americans were capable of more in South Africa during the World Cup despite the fact that they reached the second round of the tournament before being eliminated in a 2-1 overtime loss to Ghana.

Bradley is 38-20-8 in four years coaching the USA team, including a victory last year over top-ranked Spain that earned the Americans a spot in the Confederations Cup final.

It was the first time the USA team was in a final at a major FIFA tournament.

"Bob is honored to be the U.S. coach," said Ron Waxman, Bradley's agent. "It's a job he enjoys very much, and he's very happy."
