Browns Seneca Wallace thinks Lions Ndamukong Suh should be Suspended
Cleveland Browns back up quarterback Seneca Wallace believes that the Lions rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh should be suspended for the highly illegal take down of Browns starting quarterback Jake Delhomme during their game on Saturday night.
In the play in question, Suh grabbed the face mask of Delhomme, twists his head like he was trying to unscrew it, grabs him by the neck in a horse collar, and then throws him to the ground.
On Monday, Wallace, who would be the starter for the Browns if Delhomme was to get injured, had some thoughts that he shared with Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"He already face masked him, then he grabs him by the neck, twists it and throws him down,'' Wallace said. "To me, that's something you can get suspended for, I think. . . . I understand the face mask part. But he horse collared him and threw him down. We laughed about it, but that stuff can get people really hurt.''
Browns coach Eric Mangini said that even though the Browns will send the tape to the NFL and ask for an inquiry, he imagines they would do so even without a request and NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an e-mail that "It's already under review."
