A’s Pitcher Brett Anderson told by team to delete Twitter photo

Oakland A’s starting pitcher Brett Anderson was told by team officials to remove a photo of himself with two women while holding stacks of what appears to be one dollar bills.

In going through Twitter, it appears that Anderson did more then just delete the photo, he deleted his whole account. I guess he won’t be tweeting again.

It all started after Anderson had a bad outing against the Rangers on Friday and Joe Stiglich of the San Jose Mercury News mentioned it in his article about the A’s loss and Anderson’s lousy outing where he gave up three runs and left after the second inning with a supposed mild hyperextension in his right knee.

Later in the article Stiglich says:

Anderson's rough night came a day after the A's asked him to remove a photo he posted to his Twitter account, showing him in a Cleveland nightspot with his arms around two women and clutching money in both hands.”.

The story was then picked up by SBNation.com on Saturday and as talked about in that article, you would think that since the team asked him to remove the photo that there would be something distasteful, pornographic, or irresponsible in the photo.

However, that is not the case here. There is no nudity, nothing illegal is going on, and after all, Anderson is single, and a professional baseball player, so the stacks of one dollar bills in each hand and the women in each arm should not be an issue either.

So you have to contemplate just what did the A’s find offensive in the photo?

What is humorous, is the possible but not authentic, apology that SBN came up with from Anderson concerning the photo.

"On Thursday, I tweeted a photo of me hanging out with two women while holding money. I sincerely regret this photo, as it implies that I have a lot of money (which I do) and that I hang out with women (which I do). There is nothing to take away from this photo but the insinuation that I am a terrible person. It was grossly irresponsible, and I would like to sincerely apologize for depicting myself having a laugh for the camera in the company of women."

On Sunday, SportsbyBrooks.com brought up another interesting point about Stiglich’s quote in his article saying that the picture was of Anderson in a “Cleveland nightspot” and that SbB will have to “check out that ‘Cleveland nightspot’ with the ‘inside a motel room’ interior design theme” the next time he is in Cleveland.

I see nothing wrong with this picture and the A's should be ashamed of themselves. Oh no, a young rich athlete likes to hang out with skanky Hos. I believe Tiger Woods turned that into a lifestyle. The obvious conclusion from the picture is that Anderson could have gotten hotter Hos if he was holding bigger bills. He's young, so he has time to learn. Plus it sounds like he has a great sense of humor. Playerpress should sign him up immediately.
