Boller should see more Playing Time for Raiders
Kyle Boller is working toward the number two quarterback spot for the Raiders. With Bruce Gradkowski nursing a sore groin and Charlie Frye out with wrist surgery Boller should, once again, step in for starter Jason Campbell.
Boller spotted Campbell in the second quarter Saturday against the Cowboys and started to show that maybe he shouldn’t be buried as deep on the depth chart as he was prior to his taking the field against Dallas. For Boller it was the opportunity to make up for lost time.
After a great start with the Baltimore Ravens a shoulder injury put him on the shelf for the entire ’08 season. He returned in ’09 with St. Louis, but a bad performance against the 49ers left him buried on the depth chart.
Having played at Cal, Boller is comfortable being back in the Bay area and being reunited with Hue Jackson, his offensive coordinator at Baltimore, is a bonus. "I have a great relationship with Hue and I really like the way he coaches," Boller said. "I love this offence; I think this is a great offence."
If it stays great under Boller maybe his opportunities will increase.
