Cowboys Dez Bryant Injures Ankle
Cowboys rookie receiver Dez Bryant apparently injured his right ankle towards the end of the Cowboys practice on Friday and was helped off the field by trainers.
Bryant became entangled with a defender while trying to catch a pass near the end of Friday's practice. When he got up and tried to walk, he grimaced in obvious pain, then sat back down on the turf and reached for his right ankle.
Trainers ran out onto the field and checked on him and then had to help him off of the field. The extent of the injury and the exact nature of it are not immediately known at this time.
Bryant was in the news this past week because of his refusal to carry the pads of fellow receiver Roy Williams after practice. It caused a big stir in the media and among some current and former NFL players as is it considered a mandatory rookie initiation to carry the pads of the veterans after practice.
Bryant claimed he was not going to do it because he was there to play football, not carry pads and that he had never heard about this before.
There has been no word as to whether he has changed his tune since the original incident and carried any of the pads off the field for any veteran players.
